Brazilian Olympic Committee Launches 2028 LA Olympics Strategic Prep, Building on Paris 2024 Success

The Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) has initiated strategic preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, focusing on logistics, planning, and cross-departmental collaboration—all built on Team Brazil’s strong performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. With three years to go until the 34th Olympic Games, the COB gathered all key departments for a meeting to officially launch its strategic roadmap. The session reviewed key tasks and shared updates from a recent inspection trip to California.

“In Los Angeles, we have our beacon,” COB President Marco La Porta stated clearly in his opening remarks. “We hope to conclude this Olympic cycle there in 2028 with excellent results.” His speech emphasized the importance of advance planning and the collective commitment needed to overcome logistical challenges at the U.S.-hosted Games.

The meeting discussed subsequent steps in booking, procurement, travel arrangements, and qualification, based on data collected during a technical inspection of the Olympic Village area and surrounding facilities in May. Since 2023, the COB has completed three visits to the 2028 host city.

This early and focused preparation underscores Brazil’s ambition to build on its Paris 2024 achievements. By aligning strategies across departments and leveraging on-site insights, the COB aims to lay a solid foundation for competitive success in Los Angeles.
